Fishing Point Lighthouse, July, 2002
The Fishing Point Lighthouse was established in 1912, replacing a harbour light that had existed since 1906. The current tower was erected in 1960.
The lighthouse is easy to find. Just follow the highway through St. Anthony - the lighthouse is at the end. Once you get there, you can get to within a few metres of the building for a close view.
The keepers dwelling is now a restaurant called The Lightkeepers, appropriately serving seafood. Across the road from that is a Viking Restaurant. Both are apparently worth visiting, although I can vouch for neither since my short visit in 2002 did not allow it.
